In use of FLIR Infrared Cameras
Use infrared to detect the temperature of the suspected leak location. If there is water inside, the temperature will be uneven, and hence infrared can accurately find the leak location.
Since the heat capacity of water is higher than that of general building materials, such as concrete and bricks, the temperature of the place where water is stored is relatively low (displayed as a cooler color in the infrared image) .

Concrete spalling is mainly caused by water vapor or water seepage, which causes the rebars in the concrete to oxidize and rust. After rusted, the rebars will expand and eventually resulting in concrete spalling.

Client made an detection appointment with our company because there was a large water stain (red circle) on the wall near the floor.
Seeing this water stain, many people will think that the source of water leak comes from the bathroom behind the wall.
However, after the detection with an infrared camera, our professionals immediately found that there were long water marks (blue arrows) on the entire wall, which cannot be seen by naked eyes! Hence, it can be speculated from this water mark that the leak was caused by the upper unit rather than the bathroom.
